This crime drama, centering on an inmate assisting the FBI against a shady European drug trafficker, can be captivating at times, also dealing with themes of deception and abuse of power. Joel Kinnaman’s performance is strong enough to carry this violent thriller, but many of the other actors don't quite manage to leave a mark, and there's a noticeable lull in the story around the middle. It seems someone believes Ana de Armas has potential, though I haven't yet figured out why; and Rosamund Pike, even in "Gone Girl," always appears somewhat distant to me, regardless of her part.
