While I don’t share the enthusiasm that many others have for *The Incredibles*, it remains an enjoyable film. I appreciate the early parts of the movie, where the characters are introduced and some background information is given. However, when the story turns more dramatic, I feel like something is lost. It's still good during those lighter moments. The animation quality is impressive, although the human characters’ faces sometimes look a little strange. I wasn’t particularly impressed with Syndrome, the villain; he seems rather mild. I never experienced any real sense of dread or anxiety from him. A more sinister and cunning antagonist would have been preferable. It was also surprising to me that Jason Lee provided his voice since it doesn't really sound like him. It’s funny how easily I misheard some of the actors; did anyone else think Elastigirl was voiced by Jodie Foster? Violet’s voice sounds a bit like Aubrey Plaza, too. Perhaps my hearing isn’t what it used to be. It was good to correctly identify Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone, though. I do want to emphasize that this is absolutely a film worth seeing. I simply would have preferred the danger facing the heroes to feel more significant. Finally, the concluding scenes, while amusing, come across like a series of outtakes strung together. That’s just a small issue, however.
