This movie is the expected continuation of the popular television program, featuring the same four characters—charming, mischievous, and often getting into trouble. The group has graduated from high school and are planning a summer vacation before beginning their university studies. They choose a Greek island known for its vibrant nightlife, clubs, alcohol, beaches, and an abundance of young women who, as Jay puts it—one of the four, who frequently exaggerates his romantic successes—seem eager to meet them. To be frank, there isn’t much of a plot here. Simon is still pining after Carli, his girlfriend with whom he has an inconsistent relationship; she happens to be vacationing at the same location. Meanwhile, Will continues his attempts to lose his virginity while maintaining a somewhat detached and principled demeanor despite attending a prestigious school. That’s pretty much it. There are numerous jokes and silly situations as you would anticipate from four young men drinking in a Greek resort; however, I didn't find it as humorous or the writing as strong as in the television series. A significant element is that their parents have very limited screen time, and I believe the film falls short because those parental figures previously provided an important contrast to the teenagers’ struggles. As a result, the movie felt drawn out and repetitive, primarily concentrating on how the four friends interact with local residents and other tourists. It's worth seeing if you enjoy the show.
