It’s not great, but *The Hurricane Heist* manages to be an acceptable disaster movie, though it suffers from inconsistent special effects and performances that are mostly unremarkable. I found the finale enjoyable; it has a feel similar to *The Fast and the Furious*, which isn't unexpected given that Rob Cohen directed both. The acting is generally disappointing. Maggie Grace, as Casey, is the exception—it’s nice to see her in something different from *Taken*. Toby Kebbell, playing Will, is passable, but he and the other actors don't particularly stand out. A stronger cast would have helped considerably. The plot itself is acceptable, even with some awkward turns. The effects are weak for much of the film, although a few scenes do look good. It’s fortunate that it wasn’t worse; the final act definitely made me feel better about the movie.
