The premise of people targeting conservatives felt like it could have been a sharp, provocative satire, but 'The Hunt' turns out to be a fairly standard comedy-horror-suspense film with occasional bursts of energy. While I don’t love what we got, the idea of Blumhouse doing updates of older Jean-Claude Van Damme action movies, starring Betty Gilpin, is something that appeals to me. I would watch those; not in cinemas, mind you, but at a later hour while drinking beer.
