This film demands attention; it’s not something you can take lightly. Mads Mikkelsen gives an outstanding performance as a man living alone who unexpectedly finds romance and brings his son into his home. I won't go into any more detail, so as to avoid giving anything away. However, it's definitely not a breezy or simple movie—and that’s appropriate given what it explores. The film handles its themes with sensitivity, featuring strong acting from Mads and everyone else involved. Both the writing and visuals are well-suited to the story being told, resulting in a carefully made depiction of love, connection, and destruction. Excellent.
