This brutal revenge story succeeds largely because of the actor in the central role. A film featuring a protagonist (and I hesitate to call him that) who is constantly beaten up offers a refreshing alternative to the sanitized and consequence-free action seen in many popular movies. It probably would have been even better if not for the fact that so many of these beatings are shown through flashbacks, which inherently tell us he survived them. Despite this flaw, it remains an enjoyable Australian film for those who can handle its intensity. _Final rating:★★★ - I suggest you check it out._
