The movie centers on two police officers entangled in a complicated, illicit weapons transaction. It’s a police story unfolding within a small American town situated near the Mexican border. The narrative highlights the illegal flow of firearms, and follows these two cops—one portrayed as upright, the other facing scrutiny—as they find themselves in serious danger when complications arise during a deal between smugglers. A hitman is dispatched to silence those involved, placing the officers directly within a violent situation. They are then compelled to defend their town. The film’s concept draws from true events, although I found it somewhat unbelievable. This was largely because of my unfamiliarity with that region; consequently, it proved more like entertainment than an insightful look at illegal operations or police bravery. The acting was acceptable, including Patrick Wilson's performance, but Ian McShane stood out considerably due to the boldness of his character. The plot is straightforward and seems to unfold over just a couple of days. While certain moments were surprising, they weren’t enough to redeem the film. It felt like "a series of events" rather than a well-constructed storyline. The setting was positive, and it's something you could watch once without high expectations. Those who are selective about their viewing choices might want to pass on this one, as it doesn't offer substantial value; however, I wouldn’t call it a bad film. _5/10_
