The initial idea had potential, but the film didn't quite grab me. While *’The Holcroft Covenant'* does have some parts that are good or could be enjoyable, there were issues with how quickly things moved and characters who failed to engage my interest. I also wasn't impressed by the visuals; even though they filmed in several different countries, it never created a sense of place – it just felt like one scene after another. Michael Caine was a bright spot, as he usually is. I found his performance pleasing, and some of his early jokes landed well. The actors supporting Caine were also good; Victoria Tennant, Bernard Hepton, and Michael Lonsdale all did fine work. Overall, it’s a reasonably strong cast. Still, when the credits rolled, I felt like something was absent. 6
