It’s unusual to see former rivals working together! Perhaps the professional reviewers are correct, but as often happens, I don’t have to share their opinion. It's a pleasant movie, though not exceptional like some people suggest. It is enjoyable. The action sequences were well-done, and the comedic moments were satisfactory, however, the core storyline felt familiar. Anyone over 20 has likely encountered similar narratives before; it’s simply the same story with different actors and a new production team. They did an excellent job promoting it, so the initial reception was impressive. Ultimately, though, it's a film you could watch once without expecting to have your sides split. At first, I wondered if this would be comparable to 'The Nice Guys,' hoping for a similar dynamic as Crowe and Gosling had. But it turned out differently; it felt more intense, the kind of thing that Tarantino enthusiasts would appreciate. Plus, Samuel L. Jackson makes an appearance. The two main actors performed well, but that doesn’t mean they rescued the film—that's just what fans might believe! A bit of good fortune may have also played a role. The story revolves around a hitman in custody who agrees to testify at the International Criminal Court against a powerful figure. Now, those he wronged are pursuing him relentlessly from England to Holland. A demoted bodyguard is assigned to ensure his safe arrival. Their journey involves navigating various challenges before they reach their destination and a significant plot development occurs near the conclusion. As I mentioned, it’s not particularly groundbreaking, aside from how it's presented on screen, which does set it apart somewhat. But again, not every film succeeds in that aspect, and this one is something of an exception—maybe one out of twenty or twenty-five films. If you are just looking for some entertainment, then it will serve its purpose adequately. A sequel might be possible, and a prequel could even be interesting. I’m unsure if I would want to see either, but I'd be satisfied if they happened! _7/10_
