Christopher Rygh portrays the central warrior, who has come up with a method for severing his enemies’ heads and then transforming their fluids into a balm possessing restorative qualities. Driven by an unwavering purpose—his daughter (Cora Kaufman) was harmed by his final adversary—he is determined to expand his collection of severed heads. The narrative shifts in surprising ways when a container of his potion falls from a ledge, spilling onto a disembodied head lying nearby... It turns out that the healing properties aren’t exclusive to the hunter, and before long—well, it's fairly predictable what happens next. I did find the basic idea appealing, and the level of detail in the production is decent, but the performances are rather poor, and somehow the chance to craft something genuinely frightening and captivating is lost. There’s a complete lack of suspense, which is disappointing.
