I recall seeing this film when it first came out; I had disturbing dreams for quite some time afterward. It might seem dated now, but the narrative remains strong, and its impact is amplified by the fact that it’s rooted in actual events. It’s genuinely difficult to come across a really effective horror film, and if you ask me, this one manages to avoid being disappointing.
