It was a difficult film to sit through, mainly because the attempts at humor felt forced and didn’t quite work. However, it did have some things going for it; the special effects were noteworthy, and even the costumes, particularly Guyver's design, were pretty good, although better lighting could have hidden some of their imperfections. It seemed like Mark Hammil was just happy to be working at this stage after Star Wars, collecting a paycheck. While not terrible by any means, it’s not something I’ll ever want to watch again except maybe to hear the audio commentary track. **2.0/5**
