This crime story, featuring only one performer, creates a genuinely unsettling sense of being closed in. Jakob Cedergren portrays “Asger,” an officer carrying his own burdens, who finds himself concentrating on a disturbing but captivating phone call from a woman needing help. She reports being stranded on a highway inside a white van with two children left alone at her house. As his work is nearing completion, he dedicates himself to learning everything possible about her situation, along with information concerning her young daughter and her husband, who seems connected to the unfolding mystery. The entire narrative unfolds within a dimly lit control room, where the telephone serves as his sole tool in attempting to unravel the truth—resulting in a rather abrupt rhythm to the exchanges that build toward an unexpected climax. It's a thoughtfully constructed and timed film that manages to generate considerable suspense within ninety minutes, making it something I’d recommend seeing.
