The story follows a little mouse venturing into the woods in search of food, without realizing how vulnerable he is to the creatures around him. He encounters dangers like a snake, an owl struggling with its flight path, and a particularly aggressive fox. It’s possible he's familiar with tales like "1001 Nights," because when his life is threatened, he creates vivid visions of a terrifying monster to scare off his potential predators. This tactic works until he unexpectedly runs into someone else hidden within the trees. The straightforward plot benefits from charming and expressive stop-motion animation; you can see so much in their eyes! The story presents things from the viewpoint of an unsuspecting child as we journey through the woods, and the mouse frequently finds funny ways to get out of difficult situations. It’s a short program, about thirty minutes long, that I found pleasant enough to watch.
