The performances feel stiff, and the writing is undeniably corny, but these flaws don’t detract significantly from enjoyment. It's clearly a film made on a low budget, and that much is obvious. However, the premise itself holds promise, the production quality is acceptable, and the special effects are surprisingly well-done. Though the two scholars come across as predictable caricatures, the central group of characters proves engaging. I’ll also say that during the ending moments, I found myself genuinely captivated.
