The Gallows Act II surpasses its first installment, which I found truly awful. This sequel received a direct-to-video release, and thankfully abandons the found footage format in favor of a more conventional approach; however, the narrative remains equally nonsensical. The film missed an opportunity to explore social media fame with some substance, instead opting for superficial frights involving supernatural occurrences—a genre I don’t typically enjoy. While the concluding twist held some intrigue, it quickly falls apart under even brief scrutiny. I did think Ema Horvath, in her starring role, was quite good and might have a promising career if given stronger scripts (it's noteworthy that her first film appearance, "Live Share Follow," also deals with YouTube popularity). **1.75/5**
