It's a worthwhile movie. According to Fantasia Film Festival’s description, after years spent in smaller roles across many movies and television shows (and earning several accolades along the way), Dale Dickey becomes the focus in THE G, offering a performance that is both powerful and sharp enough to make actors like Eastwood or Bronson reconsider their approaches—and notably more understated than either of them. Similar to Dickey’s portrayal as Ann, director Karl R. Hearne's second film, which has gained popularity at festivals, possesses a restrained but precisely controlled energy. Apparently drawing inspiration from his own grandmother, who was evidently a strong woman, and feeling upset by how often older people are mistreated without anyone noticing, Hearne created a raw revenge story that includes elements of dark comedy and is held together by an unusual but completely believable main character—a variation on film noir with some muted tones. – Rupert Bottenberg
