It’s crafted wonderfully and a real pleasure to watch. This is just the second movie by Wes Anderson that I've experienced (and for what it's worth, my initial exposure was *'Moonrise Kingdom'* which didn’t really grab me *quickly looks away*) and now I get why people are so enthusiastic about his work. *The French Dispatch* is just good, no question about it. The actors involved are fantastic, with lots of recognizable faces appearing in each section, and they all deliver entertaining performances. Frances McDormand was my favorite, very closely followed by Benicio del Toro. But honestly, everyone shines—from Owen Wilson to Adrien Brody to Léa Seydoux to Timothée Chalamet to Jeffrey Wright. Christoph Waltz, Willem Dafoe, and Bill Murray are also in it. The casting is just incredible! I’ve often found collections of stories uneven, although I have to admit my previous experience with that format has mostly been those low-budget Disney animated sequels from the past—we'll see if that changes my mind. But this time around, I really enjoyed seeing how everything unfolded. It helps that the different parts flow together smoothly, thanks to beautiful visuals and editing, among other things. The animated sequence was a highlight for me as well.
