The film presents a striking account of a somber narrative, though it concluded with a sense of letdown lingering within me. I recall seeing a display honoring Ray Kroc at my local McDonald's as a child, but this movie offers a considerably different perspective. Now, I’m wondering if I should even allow my toddler to eat there! Michael Keaton delivers such an intense depiction of the ambitious and deceptive Ray Kroc that it made me doubt whether I enjoyed his performances. Still, he remains one of my favorite actors—that's how unsettling the actual story behind McDonald's rapid growth truly is. *The Founder* does a commendable job of recounting a disheartening tale, so thoroughly in fact, that it leaves you with an unpleasant feeling by the time the credits roll (no pun intended 😉).
