_The Forever Purge_ is a disappointing addition to the series, and its relative watchability only comes from how bad the previous film was. While it does try to offer a new perspective on immigration, even that attempt feels clumsy. Given the tired nature of the premise, this movie has managed something unusual for horror films: it drains all excitement out of violence. It’s frankly boring to witness deaths and killings. One can only hope that _The Purge_ franchise will end with this installment.
