The most striking aspect is definitely the sound design; there's something deeply unsettling about these initial three minutes spent observing a fly. As the insect moves through a garden, it wanders into a house and quickly finds itself targeted by someone annoyed at its presence. Does it manage to escape? It’s hard to say whether we even hope for that outcome. The depiction of the plants outside is remarkable, and the way the sound is edited as the fly travels, settles, interacts with a piano, and then takes off again creates an unexpectedly moving three-minute display of creative work—something I found myself appreciating despite its unusual focus.
