It’s an acceptable film to watch, though I doubt I’ll revisit it, and I can suggest it to people who enjoy romantic comedies. The movie is perfectly adequate, but it stands out as one of the saddest romantic comedies I have encountered. There are many recognizable actors involved, with Emily Blunt and Jason Segel really driving the story forward, while Chris Pratt and Alison Brie provide notable supporting performances. Based on the title itself, you can anticipate a degree of hardship stemming from life experiences, since it seems one partner frequently makes sacrifices for another—though ideally in balance. The reason this film feels so disheartening is that it presents a very realistic depiction of everyday existence. Luckily, skilled comedic actors and writers were involved, injecting considerable humor to make the movie enjoyable. At times, the pacing does feel slow, and upon reflection, Alison Brie was the most memorable aspect, which isn’t usually a positive thing for a film where an attractive face is among its more engaging elements. There are numerous lessons about life and social observations woven throughout, but if you aren't generally fond of romantic comedies, I am uncertain how much enjoyment you will find here.
