The film’s animation and speed are genuinely impressive, yet ultimately, I found it to be a fairly lackluster melodrama that dwells excessively on familial struggles! "Miyagi" is a basketball player constantly overshadowed by his deceased older brother. His school team consistently faces defeat, but can they find strength in one another to improve their performance and finally break this pattern? The characters are reasonably well-developed, and the relationships among the players feel believable, portraying the typical pressures of adolescence—though, personally, I was let down by the main plot. There’s an abundance of grief over a lost sibling; that scene with their belongings lingered too long, making me want to tell them to move on! If "Second Slam Dunk" happens, I hope Miyagi avoids any romantic entanglements. The soundtrack is overly intrusive, which was also frustrating, but the action animation is superb, coming from producers who clearly have a grasp of this energetic and athletic sport.
