This movie is consistently captivating from beginning to end, featuring truly remarkable performances by the three female leads. Emma Stone demonstrates, yet again, that there’s more to her than just looks as the deceptive and damaged Abigail; Rachel Weisz delivers another strong performance as the domineering and vengeful Sarah, and Olivia Colman was absolutely worthy of an Academy Award for her portrayal of the immature and frail Queen Anne. Nicholas Hoult's frivolous Harley manages to be a scene-stealer whenever he appears. Yorgos Lanthimos has created another film that is visually stunning, primarily utilizing natural light. It’s difficult to express how beautiful it looks. Several times while watching, I was reminded of *Barry Lyndon*, but this one includes plenty of humor and profanity, and thankfully avoids having anyone ruin the movie's impact. I initially rated it 9 out of 10 because I wasn’t keen on the fish-eye lens effect, but after continually considering how much I enjoyed it, I decided to raise my score to a full 10. It’s easily the best film I’ve seen in quite some time.
