The acting from Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman is remarkable. *The Father* is a truly upsetting movie to experience; it’s obvious early on where the story is going, yet that doesn't lessen its emotional impact. I haven't personally encountered what this film portrays, but it felt very authentic—at least based on accounts I’ve heard about the condition. Hopkins delivers an outstanding performance as the main character, which was anticipated considering how much praise the 2020 movie received when it earned awards. What I wasn't aware of until now was Colman’s contribution – she is simply wonderful, especially in a poignant scene with Hopkins and Imogen Poots. It's an incredibly sad but excellent film, also portrayed with considerable skill.
