The Family Plan proves to be just another streaming movie that’s easy to overlook, unless you’re a big fan of Mark Wahlberg. While the film has moments of enjoyment thanks to the actors in the main roles, the story feels uninspired and what happens is fairly obvious, making for an unremarkable experience. It's almost as if Apple+ employed some kind of automated program to produce a standard spy comedy about a family finding out their dad is really an assassin. The action isn’t bad, but the plot relies on familiar elements that don't keep me engaged. Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan do bring something positive to the movie, keeping it from being totally unwatchable. I was able to appreciate it once, but I probably won’t watch it again. Ghosted is a more amusing example of a spy-comedy. Still, if you're struggling to find something to watch, Wahlberg and Monaghan might make The Family Plan worth checking out.
