This documentary, made during COVID lockdowns, presents a truly moving and impactful love story. By 2023, they’ve shared twenty-five years of marriage. It becomes clear early on that Augusto has Alzheimer's, and the couple face the difficult reality of what lies ahead: the moment he won’t recognize her. This is a special kind of documentary where the backdrop of political turmoil unexpectedly provides some respite from the emotional weight of this deeply personal narrative as they begin each day unsure of what it will hold. The lockdown setting and the use of handheld cameras keep the attention centered on this intimate and heartbreaking portrayal of their resolve to delay the progression of the illness as much as possible. They’ve established routines intended to spark memories and help Augusto maintain his sense of self, but despite their efforts, he is not able to stop what's coming.
