This is another good installment in the series. It isn’t exceptional, and it doesn’t quite reach the heights of the initial film, but it's still enjoyable largely because of Denzel Washington’s performance. It was also pleasant to see Dakota Fanning again, and I appreciated the surprise regarding her character’s storyline as the credits rolled. The one drawback is that the movie lacks the striking visuals of the first one, and Antoine Fuqua’s direction feels somewhat predictable, even though he's usually a reliable filmmaker. **3.5/5** Separately, it’s remarkable how consistently this series has performed at the box office; all three films have earned roughly $180 million globally and each had domestic opening weekends of approximately $35 million.
