This new series of Equalizer films lacks the restraint, appeal, and polite demeanor that defined the initial television show starring Edward Woodward. It’s instead bogged down in excessive, degrading, and brutal violence, featuring a central figure who comes across more like the Terminator than a morally conflicted killer. Frankly, it's unpleasant to watch. I only managed to endure about fifteen minutes before giving up. It also strikes me that this kind of pointless brutality reflects a larger problem with society presently. Ultimately, it’s excessively violent, unattractive, and difficult to connect with. I won’t be watching.
