I hadn’t read the book beforehand, which meant I went in without any preconceived notions. (I plan on reading it now.) This film is one of those movies where you just let go and have a good time. It doesn't try to be believable; it's simply an enjoyable action fantasy with robots and some humor sprinkled throughout. Adding Chris Pratt to the cast was a smart move, too. Herman, the robot character played by Anthony Mackie, really stole the spotlight with his witty lines. I’ve noticed Millie Bobby Brown’s popularity has been increasing recently, but she didn't particularly impress me. The story itself was original and kept my attention. There wasn't anything to dislike about any of the actors’ performances either. If you are a fan of robots or science fiction and can appreciate something that doesn't take itself too seriously, then this movie should appeal to you. It certainly did for me. 7.5/10. "Would watch again."
