It’s important to keep in mind that when this movie was created, screenwriters weren't exactly known for their sensitivity regarding harsh language. There are moments where the conversations feel childish. Clint Eastwood portrays an art professor who has built up a substantial collection thanks to money he earned as a former hired killer. His previous employer—the pale "Mr. Dragon"—lures him back into action with a significant payment and the opportunity to avenge the death of his old friend. As the title indicates, it incorporates mountaineering, following Eastwood and his companion "Ben" (George Kennedy) as they attempt to discover which member of an Eiger climbing expedition is responsible for what happened. The film progresses at a slow pace, and beyond those instances of problematic language that make earlier “James Bond” movies seem progressive, there isn't much substance present. While the photography depicting the high altitude climbs is well done, and some feeling of danger emerges later on, it’s largely just drawn out and uninspired.
