The movie began well, but the ending fell flat. I found the spy aspects of *'The Eiger Sanction'* enjoyable, although I recognize that it can come across as a bit cheesy and occasionally feels like a Bond imitation at times. Seeing Clint Eastwood in that type of part was generally appealing, though. What disappointed me was that the remainder of the story centered on mountain climbing, and it wasn’t particularly engaging because it felt stretched out. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a bad film, but it reminded me of 1959's *'Third Man on the Mountain'*, another movie about mountain climbing produced by Disney. Similar to that earlier film, I didn’t actively dislike what was happening onscreen, but it wasn’t captivating enough to hold my attention for a long period. I'm giving this 3 stars because it remains a decent film with some nice visuals, but it had the potential to be considerably better given how promising it seemed at first.
