This movie was a genuine surprise, especially since I didn’t know anything about it going in other than that it came from the Canadian filmmaking group Astron 6. It proved to be an absolute pleasure to watch. The humor is spot-on, the film is wonderfully strange, and it embraces camp perfectly. It's designed as a spoof and tribute to Giallo, those classic Italian slasher films of the seventies, and it captures every element of that style. Everything about it feels intentionally off – the exaggerated performances, the clumsy dubbing, plots that often don’t make sense, gore effects with bright red blood, casual sexism, odd conversations, and even hints of homoeroticism. Someone unfamiliar with Giallo might just see this as a badly made exploitation film, but those who know and love Italian slashers will recognize and enjoy the details like the leather trench coats, gloved hands, and gleaming knives. It's essential viewing for anyone into Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, or Sergio Martino.
