The story starts with Mr. and Mrs. Duck nervously expecting a baby. Emerging from the egg is what appears to be the very first Nazi! Years pass quickly, and their child is already painting walls with swastikas and giving speeches about dominating Europe and the globe. A not-very-bright Italian goose shows up, communicating solely through ice cream flavors and weather reports, and even the weathervane picks up the salute. The dove representing peace seems utterly defeated, agreements are quickly reduced to scraps of paper, and a third character arrives to form a "ridiculous alliance," finishing off the group of comical figures. There isn't much laughter to be found in this film, and while it’s important to recall that it was created in 1942 as America adjusted to its full involvement in World War II, a bit more cleverness and less reliance on stereotypes could have resulted in something funnier and of higher quality. Still, the movie does manage to deliver some laughs.
