It seems like additional resources and perhaps some different choices of actors might have improved things, yet even so, _The Domestics_ proved surprisingly inventive. It does fall into the trap of imitating _Mad Max_, which is something you see in nearly every movie set after civilization has collapsed, but there's at least one fairly new concept present, along with a few characters who are somewhat engaging. I wouldn’t call it genuinely good, however; _The Domestics_ is... better than anticipated, I suppose. It’s hard to put my finger on exactly why, but that seems like an apt description. _Final rating:★★½ - There was much here that resonated with me, although the elements didn't quite mesh together._
