The reveal turns out to be a pointless exposition scene where all the characters seem clueless. The computer-generated imagery looks substandard, which feels like a letdown considering Spielberg’s involvement. It fails to capture the elements associated with conspiracy narratives that were present in *Close Encounters*. What should have been visually presented is instead delivered through lengthy explanations, and that's precisely what we get—nothing but those explanations. The film isn’t good; it’s quite bad.
