This isn't usually a type of movie I’d go for, but the actors drew me in—seeing Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci was enough because they are all performers I really enjoy watching. Plus, I’ve appreciated the other movies that have tackled the fashion world before, like 'Ready to Wear', 'Zoolander', and even 'Death Wish 5: The Face of Death'. What surprised me most was how funny it was; the characters' cattiness, small-mindedness, and general shallowness were genuinely amusing, and they seemed to offer a commentary on modern society. I also thought the ending and resolution were both heartfelt and perfectly suited to the story. Because of the quality of the script and performances, this film turned out to be better than it had any right to be.
