The concept of setting a shark film within a dark cavern is surprisingly resourceful; it certainly helps to reduce the expense of creating visual effects since the central threat doesn’t need to be fully visible. The people in the story are agreeable enough, though they don’t particularly draw you in, and they're gradually eliminated by an irritated fish simply behaving as fish do. One aspect I appreciated was that the creature isn't portrayed as evil, otherworldly, or seeking revenge; it just acts like a fish, which is rather neat. Considering its setting, this film doesn't rank highly, and neither does it fare much better when viewed as a shark movie. It’s not terrible, but it also lacks distinction.
