I would suggest checking out *’The Devil and Max Devlin’*. It does suffer a bit from being a Disney production, but I think it makes an impression given what it attempts to address regarding its storyline. I found myself invested in the predicament that Max (Elliott Gould) encounters, even though the situation itself is rather foreseeable. Gould delivers a solid performance as the main character. He’s accompanied by Bill Cosby, who portrays a figure from a less pleasant realm of existence. Julie Budd, playing Stella, stands out among the supporting cast, particularly when it comes to the musical numbers; she possesses a wonderful voice. This film represents Disney's strongest offering up until this point in the 1980s, which got off to a rough start. Nevertheless, I’m pleased with it; I enjoy watching it.
