Given the current climate in America regarding issues with law enforcement, I decided to view this film—Jerry Lewis’s initial project without Dean Martin—and anticipated it would be a worthwhile undertaking. It proved to be both heartwarming, depicting an experienced police officer demonstrating empathy and attempting to build rapport with a young person facing difficulties but possessing potential, and humorous, allowing one of the most talented comedians ever to showcase his abilities more fully. I’m pleased that I made the choice to explore his films. Happy 90th, Jerry Lewis! =)
