I found this to be exceptional; it’s among the best Stephen King adaptations and stands with Cronenberg's other films as well. Christopher Walken gives a performance that is certainly one of his finest. Watching Martin Sheen act so abrasively here prompts thoughts about Charlie’s personality, and honestly generates some anxiety—even for someone living in Canada—regarding the possibility of Donald Trump becoming president. It also reinforces my deep appreciation for Brooke Adams' work.
