The character of Harry continues to age throughout this film, which feels like a collection of familiar elements from less successful 1980s films. It incorporates aspects commonly found in Asian martial arts movies, featuring an unlikely partnership for Harry, along with a soundtrack dominated by unpleasant synthesizer music. Despite being largely unremarkable, the movie does have one positive aspect: its cast. It offers a chance to see Liam Neeson, Patricia Clarkson, and Jim Carrey early in their careers. The only thing that stands out is perhaps the sequence involving a chase using a toy car controlled remotely.
