I was nearly won over by the ending, however, I’m unable to consider ‘The Dead Don’t Hurt’ something worthy of praise. I wasn't engaged by what appeared before my eyes, which was a letdown. The narrative didn't hold my attention, and the actors portraying the characters weren't up to par, as far as I could tell. Vicky Krieps gave a commendable performance and is likely the film’s strongest element. I appreciate Garret Dillahunt, though mostly from his previous work—it appears he’s being restricted to these kinds of parts, which seems unfortunate. Before seeing it, I hoped to find enjoyment in this; westerns can be entertaining, particularly when viewed in a theater – but ultimately, it didn't satisfy me.
