My expectations were set pretty low for this movie because of what I'd read, but even though _The Darkness_ isn't exactly great, I ended up enjoying myself. It’s not something I’ll be revisiting anytime soon, but my experience wasn't bad either. I am starting to think maybe Greg McLean should focus on films set in Australia; the quality of this and _Jungle_ doesn't measure up to both _Wolf Creek_ movies or _Rogue_. _Final rating:★★½ - There were aspects that grabbed me, but ultimately it didn’t quite gel._
