There's simply nothing else like it; this is unequivocally the best film adaptation of a comic-book character ever produced. The Burton, Donner, and Nolan versions of Batman and Superman offer some reassurance, serving as prime examples of how these kinds of movies should be done. No other films have even approached its quality. These seven films—and particularly Nolan’s trilogy—represent what I believe someone like Kubrick, Hitchcock, or Kurosawa might have created had they directed a Superman or Batman movie. They resonate with viewers because the writing captures genuine human feelings and everyday struggles; essentially, they are as close as these movies get to exploring the intricacies of being human. It's unmatched.
