This movie is truly terrible. I recall seeing the first Crow film with Brandon Lee—a tragic loss, as he died during filming—and finding it acceptable, but this remake is just a disaster. It appears Eric, the character of The Crow, isn't really the focus; instead, his story gets pushed aside by his girlfriend, who has a history of drug use, criminal activity, and prostitution. Apparently, Eric himself struggles with addiction too. Both he and the woman he’s interested in are at a rehab facility where everyone is dressed like they stepped out of a Pink Panther film. And poor Eric comes across as weak, constantly getting picked on until he and his girlfriend run off, have a brief encounter, and are killed by some criminals who are after her. Then, for reasons that seem pretty unbelievable, Eric returns from the dead as an awkward, ineffective anti-hero whose job is to get revenge. To put it plainly, this remake has characters you won’t like and a plot that's not only uninspired but also doesn’t make much sense. It tries to have a love story, which is about as appealing as leftover clam chowder that’s been sitting out for two weeks. All things considered, the original The Crow film from years ago stands as a brilliant piece of cinema compared to this disappointing version. I'd suggest skipping it entirely.
