Having just experienced The Crow for the first time, I can say it’s an excellent, shadowy film based on a comic book—at certain points, it brought to mind Batman, and some sequences felt like precursors to The Dark Knight, especially concerning the character of the Joker. It's unfortunate regarding Brandon Lee, because he delivers a fantastic performance as the main character, and this could have launched him to even greater heights professionally. There are several moving scenes, and underneath everything else, there’s a real sense of sincerity. Alex Proyas really knocked it out of the park. **4.25/5**
