Olga Kurylenko comes close to salvaging it. Nearly. *The Courier* proved to be a letdown; I couldn’t find anything about it that I would consider positive. Kurylenko puts in effort, and her character is nearly interesting enough to make the film bearable, but in the end, nothing feels genuine. The largely single setting also creates problems, for both Kurylenko's storyline and Gary Oldman's role. Oldman’s character felt weak; I had little interest in the main actor, and everything connected to Mannings simply didn't hold my attention. Performances from Amit Shah and William Moseley don't improve things, and those hoping for a substantial appearance by Dermot Mulroney will be disappointed since he has very limited screen time; it’s not really my concern, but I wonder how much money he received for this. The editing felt jarring, especially in the first part of the film. The music is acceptable, mainly because of the opening and closing credits. It's safe to say that this production was overshadowed by the 2020 version with Dominic Cooke and Benedict Cumberbatch!
