This third installment isn't bad, although it veers into silliness toward the finish. I enjoyed it; however, it doesn’t quite measure up to the initial films. Michael Chaves handled the directing well, employing some of the techniques James Wan used before—such as a continuous tracking shot through the house in the beginning. As with the earlier movies, though, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are the strongest elements, delivering terrific performances together once more. **3.5/5**
